Trees are made of wood and other forms of plant material, none of which are electricity conducters. So a tree being hit by lightning is impossible without the use of other materials. Nice photoshop

The original picture is real but the flash effect is without a doubt fake.
Lightning will strike anything grounded...
Eletricity (or atleast lightning) tries to find the quickest path to the ground (or a ground).
Lightning can strike a building, a human, a car, a tree, street signs, telephone poles anything that is grounded.
Ever wonder why birds dont get struck by lightning in flight?
Its because they're not grounded. Same reason why they can stand on power lines and not get shocked. A human could hang from a power line and not get shocked as long as they didnt touch the ground.
In theory..and this is just a theory, if you were to jump off one of those power line towers, and grab a live power line that was bare, you wouldnt get shocked until you touched the ground.

Lol not saying this is real but tree's get his by lightning all the time. I have seen a tree hit by lighting it is pretty brutal.

omgwtfbbq are you an idiot lighting can strike anywhere! it is attracted to metalic materials but it can and will strike anywhere it wants my fav lighting is "sprites" high atmospheric lightining
