I saw the whole video. This was a terrible thing to do to this bear cub. The handler thought it would be fun to put this bear cub in with lions and watch and it became more and more terrified. The whole video was extremely hard to watch and very offensive. This clip doesn't show everything that was going on.
buttercup, the handler was trying to get it's animal instincts back. they tried to make the cub interact with a monkey, adult bears, but it didn't work, so they tried some lion cubs.
glad to see some people actually laughing at this... the youtube videos have a bunch of idiots like buttercup here... if you actually try and find the full thing, you'll see that after a while, it gets braver, retaliates against the lion, and also wrestles the monkey...
I've noticed people on the internet seem to get really offended when someone actually cares about an animal and wonders why it's acting a certain that may seem funny to some.
I can't believe the internet is full of hillbillys, but maybe it is. I just can't believe in this day and age caring about an animal is still considered stupid and hippy-ish to some. Have you been living under a rock? Do you still believe in slavery too? Yes I will compare it because everytime humans evolve and become smarter they learn they can't beat women, can't enslave other human beings, and now almost all of us have learned that animals deserve equal treatment.
On a second note, so what if the bear retaliates? Should it have to be in a position where it feels so scared that it has to resort to violence? No. How about we put you people in a tank with a shark or a cage with a full grown lion and see how funny it is when you get scared.
I know why because most places we are not allowed to express our thoughts/feelings. So when there comes a place where we can like this one we live out the frustration by making negativ/bitter posts. To Ilse 2010-01-03 13:53:55
MAn U alright??
U alright man?
Are U alright??
SHIIIT I AM SO BAKED WTF IS GOING ON AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
A situation where the bear cub will need to rely on instincts to survive in the wild: its natural habitat, out in the wilderness. If that bear comes up to a mountain lion and goes "DERP", bye-bye bear.
There's a difference between caring about an animal's wellbeing, and living in an idealistic fairytale.
buttercup i agree with you, i havent seen the whole video but these couple of seconds is bad enough and to dude thier obvouisly not tryin to get his animal insticnts back because bears and lions dont live in same parts of the world so itwould be no point they should have put him in with other bear cubs.
You're right, flower, bears and lions don't... waaaaaait.... almost got me, then I remembered about -mountain- lions, y'know, the farthest roaming big cat on earth. And you know what would be the most cruel? Taking an animal that grew up suckling on a bottle and eating out of a trough, then throwing them into -actual- danger called 'real life'. But no, no, scaring a cub. So evil.
