The brain minimizes its sensitivity to a color when this color is present for a long time. That's why you see everything bluey after you lay down on the beach with the Sun over you for a while because the redish color from skin in the eye lids, makes your brain less sensitive to red. The screen white color is made out of various colors. When you become less sensitive to one of them you'll see the others more.
