This is called the rolling shutter effect. This happens because CMOS image sensor in every phone doesn't capture entire frame at one moment, but scans it row after row. And each time the next row is being scanned the propeller is already at another position. Here is a visualisation: watch?v=T055cp-JFUA

Oh God, what type of a rolling shutter effect is that. It seems as if the blades are moving down from the engine. Anyways this is a new illusion i came across.
